As the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the engineering and energy aspects for the estate. Key Responsibilities:

• Energy Management – Develop and implement comprehensive energy management strategies to optimise energy consumption across the commercial estate.
• Contractor Management – Management of the on-site M&E service partner, ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of on-site building management systems, and electrical & mechanical systems.
• Sustainability Initiatives – Leading on sustainability initiatives, utilising the latest technology to minimise environmental impact.
• Service Charge Management – Supporting the Estate Management with the production of the estates service charge budgets.
• Compliance – Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards are completed and up to date.
• Using data analysis to assess and improve building performance.
• Management of any on-site projects ranging from M&E replacement projects, refurbishments / fit-outs and energy efficiency upgrades.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:

• Strong mechanical and electrical background (HNC/HND/Degree or Masters in a Building Services/Mechanical or Electrical Subject)
• Proven track record managing engineering services across a commercial property or estate.
• Strong knowledge of energy conservation measures, sustainable building practices and smart building technology
• Previous experience implementing energy & sustainability projects.
• Have high levels of customer service and have worked within a demanding environment.

As Technical Services Manager, you will work closely with the property operations team in the day-to-day management of the building, with a primary focus on delivering best-in-class technical services while maintaining exceptional levels of customer service for both tenants and the client.

You will be responsible for managing on-site hard services partners, closely monitoring performance to ensure consistently high standards. The role will see you take the lead on energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, overseeing energy performance and implementing innovative solutions that drive both environmental and cost-saving outcomes. Working collaboratively with tenants and the client, you will handle queries in a professional and timely manner, while utilising technical specifications to support long-term asset management and overseeing the planned preventative maintenance schedule.

A proactive approach is essential, particularly in responding to reactive issues and liaising with contractors to ensure swift resolution. You will also support the production of service charge budgets alongside the property management team, monitor and report on health and safety across the estate, and ensure full statutory compliance at all times. In addition, you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders on project work and act as an emergency point of contact when required.

The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, ideally supported by an HNC, HND, Degree or Master’s qualification in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical disciplines. You will bring proven experience managing technical services within a large, multi-tenanted commercial asset or high-footfall estate, alongside a broad understanding of technical FM operations. A solid grasp of statutory compliance is essential, as is experience auditing third-party suppliers to ensure service excellence. Strong communication skills are key, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both clients and colleagues.

My client, an established property management company is seeking a Technical Services Manager to join their Property Management team at a prominent building in Leicester, responsible for providing technical services support and management across the site. 

Responsibilities will include leading the planning and delivery of all technical services, including reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring optimal performance across hard services. You will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with statutory legislation, health and safety standards, and site policies, acting as the lead for all technical audits and assurance checks.

Additional responsibilities include management of the BMS and CAFM, supporting capital works and fit-out projects, and collaborating with occupiers, contractors, and the client to ensure the successful delivery of the various services under your domain. Budgetary responsibility is also key, with the candidate expected to manage the technical services budget in line with business plan.

Candidates should have a solid background in building services, strong leadership experience, and be well-versed in compliance, operational systems, and contractor management. A relevant engineering qualification and health and safety certification (e.g. IOSH or NEBOSH) are essential.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £60,000, plus a generous flexible benefits package along with a yearly bonus.
