You will oversee planned and reactive maintenance, ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, and support the company’s ESG and sustainability objectives. A key part of the role will involve building strong, collaborative relationships with your client, and tenants, managing service charge budgets effectively.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in facilities or building management. This experience may come from either the commercial or retail sector, though ideally gained within a multi-tenanted environment. You will bring excellent operational knowledge, a solid understanding of building services, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with a genuine passion for delivering high-quality service and enhancing customer experience. An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification, or equivalent, would be an advantage.

In this role, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the property, ensuring a high standard of service delivery while maintaining a close and proactive relationship with both tenants and the client. You will ensure all health and safety procedures are followed, with statutory compliance kept fully up to date and accurately recorded. The role also involves supporting the preparation and ongoing management of the service charge budget, as well as managing both hard and soft service contracts, including M&E, cleaning, and security. You will be supported by an Assistant Building Manager, who will report directly to you.

We are keen to speak with experienced Building Managers who have a proven track record overseeing multi-tenanted commercial assets. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing service charge budgets, a thorough understanding of statutory compliance and health & safety regulations, and competent technical knowledge of M&E systems. Previous line management experience is also desirable, as you will play a key role in guiding and developing your on-site team.

I'm currently working with an impressive International Real Estate Investor with an established UK presence, and a growing property portfolio consisting of several £Billion of Commercial and Residential Assets. Having expanded significantly in recent years they are now seeking to bolster the team with the recruitment of a Building Surveyor who will help develop and deliver a wide range of works including ESG/asset improvement projects and maintenance across a portfolio of residential/accommodation assets.

Duties will include feasibility, due diligence and works management, working side by side with the Asset Management and Property Management teams. A true client side role, you'll work closely with outsourced property operators and specialist consultancies to successfully deliver works to an exceptionally high standard.

The ideal candidate will likely come from a Building Surveying background, and might be currently working for a Managing Agent, Building Surveying Practice/Professional Services Consultancy or in a similar Client Side role. You should have extensive experience delivering instructions within residential property, along with experience delivering both maintenance and asset improvement projects.
